(Tried to post this message on the update thread, got cut in half so O.o)
woah :o I LOVE it! It's going to be so good I'm sure >w< engraving a box was one of the hardest things I have ever tried O.o we did it in art class back in middle school, I still got the box, it looks perfectly.. messed up, lol, but still was better than the rest o.O
We're still waiting for the credit card, but once we get it I'll definitely donate =o keep up the great work! It looks great I really got no complaints, but does any of you got any suggestions for him?

hmmmm... why not use a compass in inverse to cut perfectly the corner of the box? or something like.... hum, test differents kind of wood to color the box to see whose will fit better. and.... hummm let me think.....made a special topic/forum to discuss how much will be to export the box with/without the box to differents countries

Hi, admittedly I don't know anything about using a router, but I had an idea. Could you cut a piece of steel and use it as a pattern so you could get a perfect job every time? If you don't have the capability, I would suggest contacting a small local machine shop perhaps... explain what you're trying to do and they can probably figure out a way. It would be trivial to cut a pattern like that on a CNC mill. My father has a metal/woodworking shop in his garage, if you don't have any luck I might be able to make something if you give me all the needed dimensions. You would just affix the pattern by some means to the top of the box, and run your router through it. It could be made with sliding sections so you could adjust it depending on which side you're working on. Now that I think of it, all you'd need is a small sheet of steel or aluminum, a dremel, and steady hands. It would be the cheapest way with you have any dremel experience, just make sure to wear safety glasses! Hmm... if there are any high shools nearby with a wood/metal shop, they would probably let you use their equipment for a small fee too.

Awesome work. You got my heads up on this. Buying this from you would be a great pleasure, my friend.

RadicalXEdward: Thanks, I appreciate it! I learned a lot on how to produce music boxes from this prototype, which should make making more boxes a lot easier. I just received the red velvet today (or so USPS tells me), so the box should be 95% complete by the end of this weekend!!!

Well, It looks great so far, and it seems that you have everything planned out in order to finish it. However, you mentioned that there would be too many legal issues to engrave the sides of the box. HOW IS THAT A LEGAL PROBLEM?! I have it paused at the very beginning of episode nine, and frankly, it looks like a very simple generic design (its basically the same as the top). Sorry for the tirade. (Its directed at lawyers not you : ] ). I just find the idea of legal issues about a generic music box engraving absolutely absurd.

Mehrlicht: Great job. One question, where did you get the plates? I've been looking to find a company to produce the plates for me so I can finish up the prototype box that I will possibly sell here on the site. Do you think you could let me know where you got the brass plates? Thanks
