Welcome to the "Lilium Project"

Here is the stained prototype box.  As you can see I've matched the color to the same color as the anime.  I have added the engraving on the top, but not the other sides, due to legal reasons (I would have to go through a lot for that :( ).  It has the nice routed base, as seen in the anime.

 Here's another shot of the top, to show the engraving.  I used a CNC'd pattern to get accurate lines and curves, but it still was engraved by hand.

 Here's a shot of the inside of the box.  As you can tell I haven't added the red velvet yet, nor have I added the brass plates.  The hinges are standard brass hinges, which means the top will open 180 degrees instead of 95 degrees.  The image in the anime shows regular hinges, not stopped hinges.  The mechanism IS inside of this unit, and obviously it is on the left hand side.  You can also see on the left lip the little peg for the stopper mechanism.  It sounds beautiful inside of here (even though I dropped that one mechanism :X ).  I should be getting the red velvet within the next few days.

I forgot to add shots of the bottom, which includes a cut out for the key to wind up the device (but not stay on the mechanism), and the rear shot of the hinges.  I am 90% finished, and just need the velvet and the plates.  There are a few dings in this one, as it has been my "learner unit", but final results should look a bit better than this unit.

My next steps are:

-Add red velvet

- Find a place to make the plates

- Buy and install the plates

- Take pictures for everyone :D
